Developing Emotional Literacy

Most of us avoid emotion out of a conditioned mistrust — mistrust that it's not rational, fear that it will overwhelm, fear of what happens if we actually let ourselves feel. Strong emotion gets conflated with dysregulation and pathologized, met with approaches that tell us to regulate, manage, and control.

This session explores what changes when we stop engaging with emotion as a problem to be handled, and begin to access its intelligence.

You'll leave with practices and language you can use immediately.

This session is part of The Pleasure Ethic Conversations, a four-part cohort series on Relational Literacy.
